The Polochon Pendant is a sculptural jewel by Paola Vilas, born from the theatrical and playful universe of Polochon, a papier-mâché creature with multiple heads created by Lina Bo Bardi for the play Ubi Folias Phisycas e Musicaes, staged by Teatro do Ornitorrinco in 1985.
To reinterpret this creation in jewelry form, Paola Vilas designed small wearable sculptures, each featuring a polochon composed of five set pink sapphires, evoking the symbolic shape of the original object. The pink tone of the gemstones pays tribute to the color palette Lina assigned to Polochon in its original version.
The result blends humor and sculpture in an unexpected balance. By transforming a theatrical character into a piece of jewelry, Paola brings Lina’s imaginative stage world into the intimate act of dressing, expanding her narrative in a unique way.
This jewel is part of an official collaboration with the Bardi Institute.
