NAOSHIMA

Naoshima is a small island in Japan that, since the 1980s, has transformed into one of the most significant territories for contemporary art. There, museums, installations, and architectural interventions have been integrated into the landscape without disrupting its origin as a fishing village. In this context, art, architecture, and nature coexist in an inseparable way.

Concrete հանդիպs the horizon of the sea, natural light is treated as a material, and silence becomes an essential part of the experience. Works by artists such as James Turrell, Yayoi Kusama, and Walter de Maria, alongside the architecture of Tadao Ando, do not impose themselves on the landscape but expand the perception of space, time, and the body itself. It was in this setting that I experienced moments that approached the sacred—states of presence and contemplation that gave rise to this collection.

Naoshima expresses subtle shifts in the ways of seeing and feeling—an investigation into time, body, light, and silence, shaped by an intimate and feminine perspective. The pieces unfold into different families of wearable sculptures that materialize these concepts and reaffirm jewelry as a territory of art and experience.
