Tadao Earring
The Tadao Earring by Paola Vilas features sculptural hands that form and sustain a chain of links, creating internal voids that do not represent absence, but an essential part of the structure. The hands do not touch—each contributes to the formation of the next link, creating continuity through interdependence rather than fusion.
The piece engages in dialogue with the thinking of Lee Ufan and with the circular voids found in the architecture of Tadao Ando, where matter defines space and the inner emptiness activates form, transforming each link into a frame for space itself.
Material: 925 sterling silver with 18k gold plating
Dimensions: 41.9 x 17.2 x 3.7 mm
Important note: All 925 sterling silver pieces with 18k gold plating require special care and are subject to changes in appearance over time. The gold plating is a thin layer over the silver; therefore, contact with surfaces, exposure to chemical elements found in creams and perfumes, as well as the natural pH of the skin, act as polishing agents or reactants on this delicate layer, gradually wearing it away and revealing the silver beneath. Once the gold plating fades, it is possible to replate the piece or clean it to be worn as sterling silver.
