Ball Chair Earrings Lina Bo Bardi

The Ball Chair Earrings Earring is a sculptural jewel by Paola Vilas that pays tribute to one of Lina Bo Bardi’s most enigmatic creations: the iconic Ball Chair, designed in 1950 for the Window House. On the original piece of furniture, the brass spheres applied to the arms stood out for their striking presence and unexpected originality.

In Paola Vilas’ interpretation for jewelry, this design solution is given new life as a generously sized hoop adorned with a sequence of lapis lazuli spheres. The deep blue of the stone echoes the tones of the vidrotis from Window House, creating a link between the furniture and the architectural space for which it was conceived.

The earring also carries a playful character: the subtly irregular movement of the spheres adds spontaneity and lightness, contrasting with the solidity of the structure. The result is a jewel-sculpture that preserves the bold, sculptural essence of the original chair, now reimagined as an intimate, wearable piece that unites design, color, and a subtle invitation to play.
